The window covering (10) includes a headrail (12) , an intermediate rail (14), a bottom rail (16), at least one lift cord (20, 22) extending through each of the headrail (12) , intermediate rail (14) and bottom rail (16) , at least one post (26, 28) or unidirectional wheel (40) located in the intermediate rail (14), and a single lifting mechanism (24) operatively connected to the at least one lift cord (20, 22) . The lift cords (20, 22) are engaged with either the post (26, 28) or unidirectional wheel (40) .
