ABSTRACT A new immunodiffusion test method is provided for determining the presence of bovine leukemia viral infection in cattle. The method relieves upon the formation of a pre- cipitin line resulting from the reaction of glycoprotein anti- gen with an antibody. The reaction is conducted in a semi- solid gel medium. By comparing the precipitin line of this test against a standard the presence of bovine leukemia infection can be diagnosed. Also covered is the immunological composition comprising said antigen and said semi-solid gel media.
