PATENT BOVINE NUCLEAR TRANSPLANTATION ABSTRACT A process to produce viable bovine embryos through nuclear transplantation. The process utilizes nuclear material from 4 cell and later stage developed embryos recovered from inseminated donor cows through nonsurgical or surgical means. Recipient eggs or oocytes are recovered and a portion of the ooplasm removed by micromanipulation. Individually separated cells from the nuclear material donor embryo are inserted into the recipient oocyte. The oocyte fragment and nuclear donor material are electrofused. The embryo is cultured in vitro, transferred for an interim time to a sheep oviduct and then transferred to a cow for gesta- tion.
