A bowden-cable window-lifter drive is provided hereby. The drive includes a cable reel mounted for rota- tion in a housing, the cable reel including drive-pins extending from an end face of the cable reel. A coupler is provided for rotatably driving the cable reel with a crank bolt, the coupler engaging the drive pins. The coupler includes a coupling component which is a separate part from the crank bolt. The coupling component and crank bolt are joined together through a non-circular member for relative axial movement without relative rotary movement there- between. The housing includes a resilient member for retaining the crank bolt on the housing. The resilient member allows relative rotation without relative axial displacement between the crank bolt and the housing. A bottom plate is provided between the crank bolt and the housing and is attached to the housing and generally encloses the cable reel therewithin, the bottom plate also being rotatably supporting the crank bolt. The crank bolt is axially inserted through the bottom plate and is retained on the housing by the resilient member. The non- circular member of the crank bolt and the coupling compo- nent engage each other.
