The invention disclosed is a mechanism and method for erecting a box from a foldable sheet material, such as paperboard. The mechanism comprises a first conveyor (10) for receiving and conveying successive box blanks (B) in a first generally horizontal plane and a second conveyor (12) for receiving partially erected box blanks from the first conveyor and for completing the box forming in a second generally horizontal plane displaced vertically from said first horizontal plane. The first conveyor includes an inclined run (18) extending towards the second conveyor during which inclined run successive box blanks are partially erected by successive transverse arms (34). Each of the arms cooperates with a box blank in the inclined run to fold the box blank so that it can be received and further folded by folding lugs (28) provided by the second conveyor. The conveyor drives are coordinated so that the horizontal component of speed of the inclined run is synchronized with that of the second conveyor.
La présente invention concerne un mécanisme et un procédé pour ériger une boîte à partir d'une feuille de matière repliable telle que du carton. Le mécanisme comprend un premier transporteur (10) destiné à recevoir et à acheminer des ébauches de boîtes (B) successives dans un premier plan généralement horizontal et un second transporteur (12) destiné à recevoir des ébauches de boîtes partiellement érigées issues du premier transporteur et à terminer la constitution des boîtes dans une second plan généralement horizontal décalé verticalement dudit premier plan horizontal. Le premier transporteur comprend un passage incliné (18) qui s'étend en direction du second transporteur, des ébauches de boîtes successives étant partiellement érigées sur ledit passage incliné, au moyen de bras transversaux successifs (34). Chacun des bras coopère avec une ébauche de boîte dans le passage incliné, de façon à plier l'ébauche de boîte de sorte qu'elle peut être reçue par le second transporteur et subir un pliage ultérieur réalisé par des ergots de pliage (28) qui se trouvent sur le second transporteur. Les entraînements de transporteur sont coordonnés de sorte que la composante de vitesse horizontale du passage incliné est synchronisée avec celle du second transporteur.
