A box-grader, specifically adapted to comprises a multi-functioning spreader/grader by means of a hydraulically operated pivot connection so as to provide operation as a spreader/grader, as well as operation as a box-scraper by means of a tail gate, suitable for and capable of cutting, grading, moving, spreading, leveling and carrying within itself the medium being acted upon. The assembly includes a framework to contain a pair of parallel spaced longitudinal side pans to provide material containment and ground engaging skid sled support during operation. Said framework contains a hitch assembly for attachment to a tractor or other suitable driving implement. At least one transverse blade mount extends between the side pans at the rear bottom corner to which a grader blade is attached. Said blade mount allows for material to flow over as it builds up in front of the blade. Said blade mount is adjustable vertically to compensate for blade wear, as well as depth of cut adjustment. Additionally, but not limited to, a second blade mount, which also allows for material to flow over it, is set at a particular angle, and is mounted between said side pans, forward of the rear blade mount to provide preliminary material interaction. Said blade mount is also adjustable vertically to allow for blade wear compensation and depth of cut adjustment. Additionally, said framework provides mount points to which, but not limited to, a hydraulic operated rear tail gate, consisting of pliable rubber edging, is attached to the frame, which when closed, acts against the rear faces of the side pans and the rear edge of the rear blade mount. Closing of said gate creates an enclosed 3-sided box scraper, within which graded material can be contained within said side pans and said rear tail gate for release at an alternate location, whereas opening of said gate allows material to pass freely over the blades as a passive earth grader.
