Using normal construction procedures, a polyethylene film is placed on behind the interior surface of an exterior wall in order to act as both a vapourand air barrier. Problems are encountered when there is a requirement to installelectrical gang boxes in these areas. Using standard construction methods, both the air barrier and the vapour barrier are compromised at any point in an exterior wall where an electrical box has been installed. This invention is a single piece high density rigid insulating foam unit which, when installed around an electrical gang box, provides an effective vapour and air barrier.
