A means for bracing a boat, such as a collapsible boat, is described. The means for bracing includes a first member which extends between one side of the boat and the other, and at least one second member extending between a bottom panel and the first member. The first member is rigid, the second member may be rigid or may be formed from flexible cables. The second member is generally held in tension, and acts to restrict the movement of its associated bottom panel in at least one direction.
