An improved bracket for attaching an inclined truss such as an inclined roof rafter to a horizontal top wall plate sill in a wood frame building construction is disclosed. The bracket is L-shaped and has first and second limb sections. An exterior face of the first limb section overlies the top of the sill whereas the second limb section which has an interior face, is adapted to abut a surface area on one sidewall of the inclined truss. Locating means are included in the bracket for positioning the surface area on the one side wall of the truss in abutting relationship with the interior face of the second limb section for subsequent attachment of the two together. This arrangement permits ready and accurate installation of the inclined trusses after the brackets have been first attached to the top surface of the sill at predetermined spaced apart locations.
