Novel brain targeted low molecular weight, hydrophobic antioxidants and use of antioxidants in treatment of central nervous system neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and Creutzfeldt-Jacob's diseases and in treatment of conditions of peripheral tissues, such as acute respiratory distress syndrome, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases and multiple organ dysfunction, in which oxidants are overproduced.
L'invention concerne de nouveaux antioxydants hydrophobes à faible poids moléculaire, ciblés sur le cerveau, et l'utilisation d'antioxydants dans le traitement de troubles neurodégénératifs du système nerveux central, tels que les maladies de Parkinson, d'Alzheimer et de Creutzfeldt-Jakob, ainsi que dans le traitement d'affections de tissus périphériques, telles que le syndrome de détresse respiratoire aigu, la sclérose latérale amyotrophique, les affections cardio-vasculaires athéroscléreuses et des dysfonctionnements d'organes multiples, dans lesquelles les oxydants sont produits en excès.
