-8- ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A brake band is provided which is useful par- ticularly in connection with transmissions. The band has welded at each free end thereof a bracket. The brackets are provided with recesses to receive the ac- tuating struts which abut against one end of the re- cesses to cause closing of the band in a drum.
