A refractometric apparatus and method for monitoring the percentage of water in hydraulic fluids employ a temperature sensitive device allowing a user to obtain accurate and correct readings of various measured properties on the reticle of the apparatus. In particular, the temperature sensitive member comprises a prism-wedge-mirror combination in conjunction with a bimetallic strip. The combination ensures the proper angular displacement of a light beam inside the refractometric apparatus and, therefore, the correct readings on the reticle.

L'invention concerne un réfractomètre (10) ainsi qu'un procédé de surveillance du pourcentage d'eau présent dans des fluides hydrauliques. Ce réfractomètre met en oeuvre un dispositif sensible à la température, permettant à un utilisateur d'obtenir sur le réticule (92) du réfractomètre (10) des lectures précises et correctes des diverses propriétés mesurées. Cet élément sensible à la température comprend notamment une combinaison du type prisme-coin-mirroir (38, 58) et d'une bande bimétallique (60). Cette combinaison assure un déplacement angulaire correct d'un faisceau lumineux à l'intérieur du réfractomètre (10), et elle permet donc une lecture correcte sur le réticule (92).
