(Case No. 7081) ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A brake cylinder device having a spring-applied primary piston that is slidably mounted on a brake actuating rod that is integral with a fluid pressure operated secondary piston. A stop is formed on the actuating rod so as to be engaged by the primary piston when actuated in a brake application direc- tion by its spring, while the secondary piston actuates the brake actuating rod independently of the primary piston when the fluid pressure operated secondary piston is actuated. Thus, either a spring-applied parking brake or a fluid pres- sure actuated service brake is effective through the brake actuating rod.
