ABSTRACT The present invention relates to braking brushes used in conjunction with the folding unit of rotary printing presses. The task assigned to them consists in stretching the web sections during their conveyance across the fol- ding unit cylinders, whereby the braking brushes are adapted to the cylinder diameter and various brushes are distributed across the length of the cylinders, to this effect the braking brushes are carried by a swing bearing permitting the adjustment of the braking effect during the operating cycle of the machine. Thus, the folding operation can be carried out with a high degree of accuracy and quality.
