ABSTRACT Apparatus which has a rotor with a combined propelling and pulping effect is connected to a pulper. The rotor rotates in front of a strainer which is disposed perpendicular to its axis of rotation and which separates a half-stuff chamber from a pulping chamber. This extraction apparatus is connected to the pulper via a line which is connected either at the bottom, at the edge or at its centre. Suspension containing the refuse portion is pre- dominantly conducted away into the apparatus. This enables the pulper to be cleared of the accumulating soil. The arrangement is intended mainly or waste paper processing plant.
