Process and device for braking a moving component, such as a wheel, notably for use in two-wheeled vehicles. The process is characterized by the fact that force is applied to the moving component by means of at least one friction device, resulting in pressure exerted upon a given area of contact; upon reaching a predetermined pressure threshold, the value of the said contact surface is diminished correlatively, without reducing it to nil so long as braking is still required.

Le procédé est caractérisé; en ce que l'on applique un effort sur l'élément mobile au moyen d'au moins un organe de frottement, d'où il résulte une pression qui s'exerce selon une surface de contact donnée, puis qu'à partir d'un seuil prédéterminé de cette pression, on diminue corrélativement la valeur de la surface de contact, sans qu'elle devienne nulle tant qu'un freinage est nécessaire.
