A nonwoven fabric/film laminate material is particularly suited for use as a "housewrap", or in like building construction applications. The laminate material comprises a spunbond polypropylene nonwoven fabric, and a breathable, polymeric film which is extrusion-coated onto the nonwoven fabric layer. Both the fabric layer and extrusion-coating can be formed in a cost-effective manner on conventionally available processing equipment. By appropriate selection of the nonwoven fabric layer and film properties, the present laminate material acts as an effective barrier to liquid water and air infiltration, while providing desirable permeability to water vapor.
La présente invention concerne un stratifié sous forme de film/tissu non tissé convenant particulièrement pour être utilisé en tant qu'une membrane de revêtement isolante, ou dans des applications de construction de bâtiments analogues. Le matériau stratifié comprend un tissu non tissé de polypropylène filé-lié, et un film polymère respirant qui est déposé par extrusion comme revêtement sur la couche de tissu non tissé. La couche de tissu et le revêtement déposé par extrusion peuvent tous deux être formés de manière rentable sur l'équipement de transformation disponible. Par le biais d'une sélection appropriée des propriétés du film et de la couche de tissu non tissé, le présent matériau stratifié se comporte comme une barrière efficace contre l'infiltration d'eau liquide et d'air, tout en permettant d'obtenir une perméabilité souhaitée à la vapeur d'eau.
