An anchor system anchors a brick support to a wall. The brick support mounted to the wall includes a first and supporting flange connected to form an L-shaped cross-section. The mounting flange extends downwards for engaging the anchor system and the supporting flange extends outwards from the wall for supporting bricks thereon. The anchor system includes a backing plate mounted adjacent to the wall and a supporting plate mounted at a location spaced from the wall. Bolts are used to fasten the plates to the wall. A mounting member having a set of first slots extending upwards from its bottom edge is slidably mounted onto the supporting plate by inserting the top end of the plate up into the first slots. A portion of the mounting member is frictionally engaged between the supporting plate and the backing plate by tightening the bolts. The mounting member includes a set of second slots extending downwards from its top edge. The second slots slidably engage the mounting flange of the brick support.
