The present invention relates to peptidomimetic compounds which inhibit serine protease activity, particularly the activity of hepatitis c virus NS3-NS4A protease. As such, they act by interfering with the life cycle of the hepatitis c virus and are also useful as antiviral agents. The compounds of this invention have a bridged bicyclic moiety at the P2 position. The invention further relates to compositions comprising these compounds either for ex vivo use or for administration to a patient suffering from HCV infection. The invention also relates to methods of treating an HCV infection in a patient by adminstering a composition comprising a compound of this invention.
La présente invention concerne des composés peptidomimétiques qui inhibent l'activité de la sérine protéase, notamment l'activité de la protéase NS3-NS4A du virus de l'hépatite C. L'action de ces composés peptidomimétiques consiste à interférer avec le cycle de vie du virus de l'hépatite C, ces composés étant également utiles en tant qu'agents antiviraux. Les composés selon l'invention comportent un fragment bicyclique ponté au niveau de la position 2. Cette invention concerne également des compositions comprenant ces composés qui sont destinées à une utilisation ex vivo ou bien qui sont destinées à être administrées à un patient atteint d'une infection par le VHC; ainsi que des méthodes de traitement d'une infection par le VHC chez un patient, au moyen de l'administration d'une composition comprenant un composé selon l'invention.
