Abstract of the Disclosure A briquetting segment roll apparatus is described including mold segments which are firmly held in side-by- side relationship on the circumference of a roll core so as to extend in the direction of the roll axis. The mold segments have parallel grooves extending in respective side walls in the direction of the roll axis, wherein sealing inserts of ductile metallic material extend in the direction of the roll axis. The inserts are radially spaced from the upper side of the mold segments and are held clamped between the sidewalls of the mold segments in the grooves formed in the sidewalls.
