(57) Abstract It is described a broadband radio transmitter for a digital signal consisting of a plurality of not necessarily equispaced, digitally modulated carriers. The transmitter selects the second replica of the spectrum of the signal coming out from a digital-to-analogue converter DAC to increase the space of the useful signal from the continuous in comparison of the direct use of the base band spectrum would involve. The object of the invention is in fact to obtain a wider transition band and consequently a less stringent local oscillator residue and image filter at radio frequency. To eliminate or reduce the effect of the sin(afTy(aPI function that envelopes the signal coming out from the DAC, the invention foresees the use of an equalization of the analogue type, or the adoption of a zero insertion technique (of the digital or analogue type) or in general a digital x/sinx equalizer. The broadband signal is converted at radio frequency and the image filter selects the lower side band to cancel the spectral inversion made by the DAC if an even order replica is used. The transmitter can be profitably employed in any broadband transmitter application and in any mobile system GSM 900 MHz, or DCS 1800 MHz or UMTS.
L'invention concerne un émetteur radio large bande destiné à un signal numérique constitué d'une pluralité de porteuses à modulation numérique pas nécessairement équidistantes. L'émetteur sélectionne la seconde réplique du spectre du signal issu d'un dénumériseur afin d'accroître l'écart entre le signal utile et la composante continue par rapport à ce qu'impliquerait l'utilisation directe du spectre bande de base. L'objet de l'invention consiste en fait à obtenir une bande de transition plus large et par conséquent, un reste oscillateur local un moins contraignant et un filtre images à fréquences radio. Pour éliminer ou réduire les effets de la fonction sin( pi fT)( pi fT) enveloppant le signal issu du numériseur, l'invention prévoit l'utilisation d'une égalisation de type analogique, ou l'adoption d'une technique à insertion zéro (de type analogique ou numérique) ou en général, un égaliseur numérique x/sinx. Le signal large bande est converti aux fréquences radio et le filtre images sélectionne la bande latérale inférieure de manière à annuler l'inversion spectrale réalisée par le numériseur si l'on utilise une réplique d'ordre pair. L'émetteur convient avantageusement pour toutes applications d'émetteur large bande et systèmes mobiles de type GSM 900 MHz, ou DCS 1800 MHz ou UMTS.
