The present invention provides a broadcast channel sig-nal and apparatus for managing the transmission and receipt of broad-cast channel information, where a known difference in the data prior to encoding for transmission produces a predictable difference, which can be removed or cancelled from the multiple received active frames, such that their differences can be negated prior to combining and sub-sequently decoding. In at least one embodiment one or more applied linear encoding techniques can allow for a predictable difference in the encoded values based upon a knowledge of the difference prior to en-coding.
