A broken bolt extractor comprises a right-hand threaded shaft having, a left-hand drill bit at its lower end, the bit superposed by a collet-spreading inclined surface. The shaft has an inver- tible collet threaded thereon. The collet tapers toward its lower end and carries thereon exterior left-hans threads and is longitudinally split and expandable. The upper end of the collet carries a drive head structured when the collet is inverted on the shaft to center the drillinp as it engages the sides of an aligned opening in a mating flange.
