An apparatus and method for cleaning triboelectric negative toner particles from the photoreceptor surface without the need of a preclean corotron. To remove the residual particles, a first cleaning brush, in the direction of motion of the photoreceptor, is negatively biased to remove the positive (+) toner and charge the toner particles negative. Then, the second brush, in the direction of motion of the photoreceptor, is positively biased to remove the residual negative toner particles from the surface as the second brush contacts the surface.

Appareil et méthode pour nettoyer les particules négatives triboélectriques de toner de la surface du photorécepteur sans devoir recourir à un corona prénettoyé. Pour enlever les particules résiduelles, un premier balais de nettoyage, allant dans le sens du mouvement du photorécepteur, est polarisé négativement pour enlever le toner positif (+) et pour charger négativement les particules du toner. Ensuite, le deuxième balais, allant dans le sens du mouvement du photorécepteur, est polarisé positivement pour enlever les particules négatives résiduelles du toner lorsqu'il touche la surface.
