The invention concerns a brush that includes a straight shaft defining an axis X-X; a flexible core (222) along the length of the brush, the core having a first and a second extremity, the first being attached to the shaft; bristles extending radially out of the core, with the extremities of the bristles defining the brush's envelope (225), this envelope having a first and a second extremity. The invention is characterized in that the core describes a curve (C2) lying in a plane of curvature (P), and in that the envelope, along at least a part of its length, has a cross section (215c) which is elongated along the major axis Z-Z perpendicular to the plane of curvature (P).
