A paint brush holder for suspending a brush in a paint can. The holder includes a base member and at least one brush support member. The base member is generally arcuate in shape and fits into the groove or recess in the rim of a paint container. The brush support members connect to the base member and extend in a generally transverse radially inward direction, so that the paint brush is suspended over the open end of the paint container. In one aspect of the invention, the paint brush holder is formed from a metal wire having a generally circular cross-section and at least one brush support member which is formed from one end of the base member. In another aspect of the invention, the paint brush holder, having at least one brush support member, is molded as a single unit from plastic.
