ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to a buckle for connecting the opposite ends of a strap together. The strap includes a base member, a cover member and a locking tongue. The base member, which is channel-shaped cross-section, is defined by a pair of arms and a bottom portion interconnecting the arms at their one ends. The base member has a retaining pin and a mounting pin journalled in the arms which pins are spaced apart along the length of the arms. The cover member is adapted to be attached to the other end of the strap. The cover member is engageable at one end thereof with the mounting pin for pivotal movement toward and away from the base member. The cover member has at its other end a lock means. The lock means comprises a pair of side lugs and an intermediate lug disposed therebetween out of registry with the side lugs. The side lugs and inter- mediate lug are lockingly engageable with the retaining pin whereby the cover member covers the base member. The lock tongue is positionable on the base member and is adapted to be selectively inserted into a strap aperture for retaining the one end of the strap against movement.
