ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a two piece plastic buckling device of the type for use with strap or other connection means, comprising a male element and a female element. The female element includes a base, a holding recess, and a retaining recess, the retaining recess and holding recess adjacent the base and longitudinally spaced from each other. The base includes at least one abutment positioned intermediate the holding recess and the retaining recess. The male element includes an integral elastic spring and a protuberance longitudinally spaced therefrom, the protuberance being of complementary configuration to the retaining recess and the female element holding recess being adapted to receive the spring. At least one abutment on the male element is positioned intermediate the elastic spring and the protuberance such that when the male element and female element are in operative buckled association, each male element abutment contacts and cooperates with an associated female element abutment whereby the retaining recess and the complementary protuberance are protected from traction forces exerted upon the two elements. Separation of each male element abutment from an associated female element abutment is permitted by compressing the male element spring within the female element holding recess.
