ABSTRACT A hinge arm assembly for a diagnostic x-ray apparatus wherein the apparatus has a space in a frame to provide access to a Bucky film cassette. As the x-ray apparatus has a source of radiation within the frame, it is desirable to have this space closed by the hinge arm assembly when the Bucky is moved to a parked or inoperative position. The hinge arm assembly provides this closing by having a separate hinge member pivotally connect- ing two arms of the hinge arm assembly. In a preferred manner a shield is attached to the hinge member.
