ABSTRACT "IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO BUILDERS SCAFFOLDING" A base jack device for builders scaffolding comprising an upright tube having a transverse base plate (2) and a plurality of spaced pairs of transverse holes (3), a supporting sleeve assembly (4) slidably mounted on the tube, and a locking pin (14) for selectively positioning the sleeve assembly on the tube relative to the holes in the tube, wherein the sleeve assembly is formed with a pair of oppositely disposed holes (12) and, in the lowermost edge thereof, with a pair of oppositely disposed recesses (13) so that, in use, the locking pin can be used selectively with the holes in the assembly or with the recesses of the assembly. The sleeve assembly (4) suitably comprises two relatively axially movable sleeves (5,8).
