ABSTRACT A unique and simple building materials carrier is disclosed. The invention enables a person on a building site to carry large 4' X 8' sheets of wallboard, plaster board, plywood and the like, with relative ease, using only one hand. The invention comprises a tool having, when in operation, a lower horizontally oriented flange with lip attached to a vertically oriented shaft and handle. The 4' X 8' sheet(s) are placed on the flange between the vertical shaft and the person's body. By adjusting the handle, the sheets are balanced between the person's body and the handle with the arm extended. The shaft is adjustable in order to accommodate persons of different heights.
