A building panel (10) comprises a hollow elongate structure (12) having a generally rectangular cross-sectional profile. The elongate structure (12) comprises first and second outer skins (14a and 14b) joined by substantially parallel first and second side walls (16a and 16b). A connecting means (18) is provided on each side wall (16) respectively wherein, in use, adjacent panels (10) can be connected to each other side by side to form a segment (30) of a wall or roof. The elongate structure (12) further comprises a third inner skin in the form of a web (20) extending between the first and second side walls (16) so as to divide the interior of the elongate structure into two chambers. The duel chamber profile of the elongate structure (12) provides the panel (10) with additional structural strength and rigidity, as well as improved thermal and sound insulation properties. The panel (10) is preferably made of polycarbonate.

L'invention concerne un panneau de construction (10) comprenant une structure allongée creuse (12) présentant un profil de section transversale généralement rectangulaire. La structure allongée (12) comprend des premier et deuxième revêtements extérieurs (14a et 14b) reliés par des première et seconde parois latérales sensiblement parallèles (16a et 16b). Des moyens de raccordement (18) sont disposés sur chaque paroi (16) respectivement, les panneaux adjacents (10) pouvant être raccordés les uns aux autres côte à côte lors de l'utilisation pour former un segment (30) d'une paroi ou d'un toit. La structure allongée (12) comprend en outre un troisième revêtement intérieur sous forme d'une bande (20) s'étendant entre les première et les seconde parois latérales (16) de manière à diviser l'intérieur de la structure allongée en deux chambres. Le profil à chambre double de la structure allongée (12) augmente la résistance structurelle et la rigidité du panneau (10), et améliore les propriétés d'isolation thermique et sonore. Le panneau (10) est composé de préférence de polycarbonate.
