A bulk carrier bag adapted to be suspended on a dispenser of a material handling system is able to break up flow blockages in powdered material which is dispensed from an aperture in the bottom of the bag. Such flow blockages occur when packed material in the bag forms a bridge across the top of the aperture. The subject bridge-breaking means is useful when vibration of the bag or similar techniques have not proven sufficient to restore material flow. An inflatable air tube is positioned intermediate an outer shell of the bag and an inner liner, preferably to extend around the aperture in the bottom of the bag. As the tube is inflated, the bottom of the liner distorts to fracture the bridge formed in the material, thereby restoring flow of material through the aperture.
