ABSTRACT: Bulk diffuser for a projection screen. A bulk diffuser for rear projection tele- vision screens which exhibits a Gaussian intensity profile is described. By appropriately selecting the indices of refraction of the substrate and the loading density and the range of diameters of the spheres there- in, the intensity half-angle is made equal to the energy half-angle, whereby the intensity profile of the bulk diffuser is Gaussian.
