A B S T R A C T BULK POLYMERIZATION OF DICYCLOPENTADIENE 1. A process for the bulk polymerization of dicyclopentadiene which comprises contacting dicyclopentadiene with a catalyst comprising a) a tungsten compound of the formula Image wherein R represents a bulky alkyl group, having at least 3 carbon atoms or a hydrogen atom, with the proviso that at least one R represents a bulky alkyl group; R1 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group of 1 to 10 carbon atoms; (m + n) are 6 and n is 1 or 2, and b) a tin compound of the formula Image wherein R2 is an alkyl group of 1 to 10 carbon atoms or a phenyl group
