A bumper system includes a beam having mounts adapted for mounting the beam to a vehicle, and a thermoformed energy absorber positioned on a face of the beam for distributing impact energy prior to deformation of the beam. The bumper system further includes a fascia support having a first section with a rear concave surface matably engaging a front surface of the energy absorber and a second section with fascia attachment structure adapted for securing a fascia to the fascia support in a supported position. By constructing different fascia supports, different fascia can be supported on the same beam and energy absorber combination, thus saving tooling costs and reducing the number of different parts that must be inventoried.
L'invention concerne un pare-chocs qui comprend une poutre possédant des éléments de montage conçus pour monter cette dernière sur un véhicule, et un absorbeur d'énergie thermoformé positionné sur la partie avant de la poutre conçu pour répartir une énergie d'impact préalablement à la déformation de la poutre. Ce système de pare-chocs comprend également un support de carénage frontal qui possède une première partie présentant une surface arrière concave conçue pour s'apparier avec une surface avant de l'absorbeur d'énergie, et une deuxième partie présentant une structure de fixation de carénage frontal qui permet de fixer un carénage frontal au support destiné à cet effet dans une position de support. La conception de différents supports de carénages frontaux assure un support pour différents carénages frontaux sur la même poutre en combinaison avec un absorbeur d'énergie, ce qui permet de réaliser des économies de coûts d'intervention et de réduire le nombre de pièces différentes à recenser.
