The invention relates to a burner (10), for a heating device, in particular, for application in motor vehicles, comprising a burner nozzle (12), for the introduction of fuel and primary air, a combustion chamber (22) and a heat shield (24), between the burner nozzle and the combustion chamber, whereby the heat shield comprise openings (26), for the introduction of secondary air into the combustion chamber. According to the invention, the openings are provided with air guide elements (28, 30).
