A stream of communications traffic (102) is processed by a time shifting disperser device (108). The device senses the burstiness (212) of the received stream of communications traffic and stores individual frames of the received stream of communications traffic for a specified time delay (204) calculated as function of the sensed burstiness. Following the calculated delay (214), the frame traffic is clocked out (206) from the device (102) to be combined with (added to) (110) other streams of communications traffic for transport over a shared media communications link (114). In instances where each of the plural streams of communications traffic are processed by an associated disperser device, individual time delays are calculated as function not only of the sensed burstiness but also of a delay determined by a transport network management (operation and maintenance) system (116) from noted correlations in bursts between the multiple streams of communications traffic. Coordination of the time shifting operation thus occurs so as to reduce burstiness correlation between the multiple streams of communications traffic.
L'invention concerne un flux de trafic de communications (102) traité par un dispositif de dispersion à décalage dans le temps. Ce dispositif détecte la sporadicité (212) du flux de trafic de communication reçu et mémorise les trames individuelles du flux de trafic de communications reçu pendant un délai spécifique (204) calculé comme fonction de la sporadicité détectée. Au terme du délai calculé (214), le trafic de trame est désynchronisé (206) du dispositif (102) de façon à se mêler (110) à d'autres flux de trafic de communications à des fins de transport par une liaison de communications de moyens partagés (114). Dans les instances où chacun des flux de trafic de communications est traité par un dispositif de dispersion associé, les délais individuels sont calculés comme fonction non seulement de la sporadicité détectée mais aussi d'un délai déterminé par un système (exploitation et maintenance) de gestion de réseau de transport (116) de corrélations notées en rafales entre les flux multiples de trafic de communications. La coordination de l'exploitation par décalage de délai apparaît ainsi de manière à réduire les corrélations de sporadicité entre les multiples flux de trafic de communications.
