A bus arbitration method for telecommunication switching is provided that receives a plurality of requests of a plurality of priorities (54) for an available asynchronous bus time slot, wherein each request has weighted age (62). The plurality of requests are ordered according to the weighted age of each request (62) and access to the bus time slot is granted to a request having the highest weighted age (62). Further, a bus arbitration method for telecommunication switching is provided that generates a plurality of requests (REQ1-REQn) of a plurality of priorities (54) for each of a plurality of packets needing an available bus time slot. An amount of time during which each request is pending is measured. The plurality of requests for the available asynchronous bus time slot are sent to a centralized asynchronous bus arbiter (102) operable to grant access to one of the plurality of packets corresponding to a request having a highest weighted age. The packet for which access is granted may then be placed in the available ingress asynchronous bus time slot by the interface module (MODULE O - MODULE n) receiving the grant.
Procédé d'arbitrage de bus conçu pour effectuer la commutation de télécommunications dans lequel est reçue une pluralité de demandes présentant une pluralité de priorités (54) pour une tranche temporelle de bus asynchrone disponible, chaque demande possédant un âge pondéré (62). La pluralité de demandes est ordonnée en fonction de l'âge pondéré de chaque demande (62) et l'accès à la tranche temporelle de bus est accordé à une demande ayant l'âge pondéré (62) le plus élevé. L'invention concerne, de plus, un procédé d'arbitrage de bus de commutation de télécommunications générant une pluralité de demandes (REQ1 - REQn) présentant une pluralité de priorités (54) pour chaque paquet d'une pluralité de paquets nécessitant une tranche temporelle de bus disponible. La durée d'attente de chaque demande est mesurée. La pluralité de demandes de tranche temporelle disponible de bus asynchrone est envoyée à un arbitre (102) de bus asynchrone centralisé destiné à accorder l'accès à un paquet de la pluralité de paquets correspondant à une demande ayant l'âge pondéré le plus élevé. Le paquet auquel l'accès est accordé peut alors être placé dans la tranche temporelle de bus asynchrone à entrée disponible par le module d'interface (MODULE O - MODULE n) recevant l'accord.
