ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A bushing for locking an inner race of a bearing on a shaft. The bushing includes an inner sleeve having a first end, a second end, an interior surface, and an exterior surface. The inner sleeve is split longitudinally between the first end and the second end. The exterior surface is tapered from the first end to the second end. An outer sleeve is provided having a first end, a second end, an interior surface and an exterior surface. The interior surface is tapered from the first end to the second end. The first end of the outer sleeve telescopically receives the second end of the inner sleeve. As the first end of the outer sleeve is slid toward the first end of the inner sleeve the tapered interior surface of the outer sleeve compresses the longitudinal split in the inner sleeve thereby bringing the interior surface of the inner sleeve into engagement with the shaft.
