A method, computer program product and system that establishes and maintains a business continuity policy in a server consolidation environment. Business continuity is ensured by enabling high availability of applications. When an application is started, restarted upon failure, or moved due to an overload situation, a system is selected best fulfilling the requirements for running the application. These requirements can include application requirements, such as an amount of available capacity to handle the load that will be placed on the system by the application. These requirements can further include system requirements, such as honoring a system limit of a number of applications that can be run on a particular system. Respective priorities of applications can be used to determine whether a lower-priority application can be moved to free resources for running a higher-priority application. -
L'invention concerne un procédé, un produit informatique et un système établissant et maintenant une politique de continuité commerciale dans un environnement de consolidation de serveur. La continuité commerciale est assurée par une grande disponibilité d'applications. Lorsque l'on lance, redémarre après un échec ou déplace en raison d'une situation d'encombrement une application, on sélectionne un système qui remplit au mieux les conditions d'exécution de l'application. Ces conditions englobent les conditions d'application, notamment une quantité de capacité disponible pour gérer la charge qui sera placée sur le système par l'application. Ces conditions se réfèrent également aux conditions du système, à savoir reconnaître une limite du système d'un certain nombre d'applications que l'on exécute sur un système particulier. On peut utiliser des priorités respectives d'applications afin de déterminer si une application peu prioritaire peut être déplacée vers des ressources libres afin d'exécuter une application prioritaire.
