A multiple layer label includes a relatively wide face stock ply (10) with pressure sensitive adhesive (40) along with a first release liner (42). A second release liner (60) is interposed between the first release liner (42) and the label stock and has pressure sensitive adhesive (66) that releasably adheres to the first release liner (42) as well as a coated surface (64) underlying a die cut area (22) in the face stock (10). The release liner (60) has a width of about half or less the width of the face stock (10) or the release liner (42).
