A busway tap-off base assembly (10) includes a base (38) of insulating material and a pivotally attached door (42). A seal (34) is placed on the busway housing around the tap-off opening. The base is slidably received in the busway tap-off opening (30) such that the seal is compressed. The base has an outside surface which includes a number of access openings (110) to electrical conductors within the busway housing. The door has a flange (130) around its perimeter and a sealing rib (134) which extends outward from the inside surface of the door. In the closed position the flange overlaps an edge portion of the base and the sealing ribs are pressed against a gasket (122) in the planar outside surface of the base seating the access openings and preventing the ingress of dust and liquids into the busway housing.

Un joint (34) est disposé dans le logement de la canalisation préfabriquée autour de l'ouverture de dérivation. La porte possède un rebord (130) autour de son périmètre et une nervure d'isolation (134) qui s'étend vers l'extérieur à partir de la face intérieure de la porte. Dans la position fermée, le rebord recouvre une partie de bord de la base et les nervures d'isolation sont pressées contre un joint (122) dans la surface extérieure plane de la base, ce qui isole les ouvertures d'accès et empêche la pénétration de poussière et de liquides dans le logement de la canalisation préfabriquée.
