A butcher's cord holder and dispenser is provided. It has a lower portion which holds a package or roll of cord and an upper portion which can be clamped at the edge of the butcher's table. When the upper portion is clamped between the table top and the frame element located under the table top, the lower portion is suspended under the table and out of butcher's way when he works. The upper portion has an aperture through which cord is dispensed as it is pulled by the butcher.
