ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A button for attachment to a garment fabric by means of a tack member adapted to be joined with the button by intruding its free end and deforming the same against an anvil plate member of the button, which comprises a button body including the anvil member, wherein the button body provides an annular rib supporting one face of the anvil member and has a resiliently deformable means capable of absorbing impact forces externally applied. The invention presents an improvement of resiliently but firmly holding the anvil plate in position even after the button has been subjected to impact forces, e.g. during the stone washing of denim type garments, to avoid objectionable noise often encountered in prior art buttons when their anvil plate becomes loose.
