ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Improved butyl rubber-hydrocarbon resin latex composition are disclosed, consisting essentially of a latex of butyl rubber and an un- hydrogenatad aliphatic petroleum hydrocarbon resin, prepared from a coe- mulsified solution blend of the rubber and resin wherein the weight ratio of rubber to resin is about 4:1 to about 0.8:1, wherein the resin has an aniline point greater than 100°C. and wherein the coemulsification is per- formed with the sodium salt of the sulfate ester of nonylphenoxypoly (ethylene oxy) ethanol comprising four moles of ethylene oxide. The compositions are useful as adhesives especially for polyolefins. As such, they are very useful in preparing coated polyolefin fabrics which have enhanced adhesive properties.
