The present invention relates to novel uses of C-19 steroid compounds, in particular C-19 steroids having an androsten-17- (OR4)-3-one structure for prophylactic and/or therapeutic uses, wherein R4 is hydrogen or an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl, aryl, acyl or any group leading to hydroxyl upon biological metabolization or chemical deprotection. The present invention particularly relates to selected C-19 steroids displaying properties of high binding affinity to androgen receptor to block dihydotestosterone from binding, while at the same time providing anabolic effects, which is useful for certain applications The therapeutic applications particularly include concepts based on influencing or controlling collagen and related therapeutic aspects, as well as concepts making use of certain disclosed effects the mentioned C-19 steroid compounds based on blocking the androgen receptor (AR) against binding of the natural androgen, dihydrotestosterone (DHT), while primarily circumventing a direct aromatase-inhibiting effect, The present invention also describes a pharmaceutical composition comprising a combination of such a compound and dimethyl isosorbide.
La présente invention concerne de nouvelles utilisations de composés stéroïdiens C-19, en particulier de stéroïdes C-19 présentant une structure androstène-17- (OR4)-3-one à usages prophylactiques et/ou thérapeutiques, R4 désignant hydrogène ou un groupe alkyle, aryle, acyle ou n'importe quel groupe non substitués ou substitués conduisant à la formation d'hydroxyle lors d'une métabolisation biologique ou d'une déprotection chimique. La présente invention concerne en particulier des stéroïdes C-19 sélectionnés présentant des propriétés d'affinité de liaison élevée à un récepteur androgénique pour bloquer la liaison de dihydrotestostérone, tout en assurant des effets anabolisants, ce qui est utile pour certaines applications. Les applications thérapeutiques comprennent en particulier des concepts basés sur l'influence ou la régulation du collagène et des aspects thérapeutiques associés, ainsi que des concepts faisant appel à certains effets de l'invention des composés stéroïdiens C-19 susmentionnés basés sur le blocage du récepteur androgénique (AR) contre la liaison de l'androgène naturel, la dihydrotestostérone (DHT), tout en évitant principalement un effet d'inhibition directe de l'aromatase.
