ABSTRACT A cabinet assembly system is disclosed, comprising, in combination, at least one tubular vertical support post of plastics material having a rectangular cross-section. At at least one exterior corner of the vertical post there is located a pair of narrowly spaced-apart, integrally formed and vertically extending flanges defining a slot for the end edge of a panel; the panel and one contiguous surface of the post are in a nearly common plane. The panel is thinner than the width of the post and the horizontal structural member having a thickness intermediate the thickness of said panel and the width of said post.The assembly also has at least one horizontal structural member. The horizontal structural member is secured to the vertical post by securing means including a plug retained in said post. The plug is retained as aforesaid on a shoulder formed on the inside of the post. - 1 -
