A cabinet with a child step includes a cabinet body with a drawer receiving cavity in which a drawer with a reinforced bottom is received. The drawer has an "in" position and an "out" position. The drawer has a storage orientation and a step orientation. In the storage orientation a receptacle of the drawer is oriented to face a top of the cabinet body, whereby items can be placed within the receptacle. In the step orientation the drawer in inverted with the bottom of the drawer oriented facing the top of the body, whereby the bottom provides a platform upon which a child can stand when the drawer is extended to the "out" position.
