A cable closure, comprising: (a) at least two housing parts which, in use, are brought together, and when brought together provide a cavity for containing sealing material, through which cavity one or more cables may extend into the closure; (b) sealing material which is contained in the cavity upon bringing the housing parts together, and which seals between the cable(s) and the housing part(s); and (c) at least one resilient member which, in use, is contained in the cavity; wherein bringing the housing parts together, in use, causes the or each resilient member to be compressed, and thus causes the or each resilient member, by its resilience, to apply a compressive force to the sealing material.

L'invention porte sur une fermeture à boîtier pour câble comprenant, a), deux parties de boîtier, au moins, assemblées en cours d'utilisation et qui, une fois réunies, délimitent une cavité destinée à contenir un matériau d'étanchéité, un ou plusieurs câbles pouvant se déployer dans cette cavité; b), un matériau d'étanchéité emplissant la cavité lorsque l'on réunit les deux parties du boîtier et assurant l'étanchéité entre le ou les câbles et la ou les parties du boîtier; c), un élément élastique, au moins, qui, en cours d'utilisation, est enfermé dans la cavité. Lorsque l'on assemble les parties du boîtier, en cours d'utilisation, on provoque la compression du ou des éléments élastiques, chaque élément élastique, du fait de son élasticité, exerçant alors une force de compression sur le matériau d'étanchéité.
